Press Launch At London's Novas Scarman Contemporary Urban Centre 25/2/2010 - Back In 5 Minutes

So on a rain soaked evening fresh from a bar in SOHO I made my way across town to Mansion House and then the short walk across Southwark Bridge to London's CUC sadly dressed in a red anorak and rucksack more attune to a hike up Snowdon than an entrance to the Little Episodes Press Launch! I was greeted by the team and immediately released myself from my 'sadmac' and proceeded to make everyone soggy with hugs and greetings. There was an instant electrical buzz in the air despite the fact it was s… Continue

A Quiet Departure

I leave the bar stool without a second glance
ice still in glass
drained empty
breathe; a menace of whisky and stale cigarettes
attractive, as I stupor forwards off rattled mahogany and onto pined floor
uneven as I glance around
at beautiful people
wasted on me
for I am wasted....
pathetic in my armour and clouded as I head for the door
tripping with light fantastic over a couple
bathed in love and wine
blue eyes meets anger and then.......
....... and then pity and disgust

Outside a glaze of n… Continue

See Straight Through Me

So yes, you have caught me drinking again.
Was it the blood red lips? The cracked smile or the dilated pupils this time?
I am clever
But you are far cleverer

You see you know my secrets
and have grown to 'know' the dirty little lies that I have spread
You can see straight through me can't you?!
That wasn't a question.

A tool that is needed certainly
and it squirms and breeds between us
flies buzzing round the shit
I am sorry but like air I need it - Right?

A Bible
A Crib
A Heart
A Dream

Letting You Down, But Of Course Not Softly

Has it really been 6 years?

Of letting you down?

So how come you stuck with me? Is it 'crash love' or does it run deeper than that?

I am an addict and if I admit I would rather sleep with drugs and alcohol than you.

So how come you've stuck with me?

Yeah, we have had some amazing days where there has been nothing but utter perfect love in crushed autumn leaves or on those windswept Welsh beaches where nothing seems could ever take 'our' feelings away...

...But then she comes back each nigh… Continue

HAHA! I mean I must try looking for the Lemonheads recording, I'm not still searching for the Rizla....

awww, thankyou x I've been writing songs since I was 15, but nothing usually comes of any of it - just masses of tea-stained-scribbled-on paper under the bed lol. Some of it makes it as far as being recorded. Surely you remember us recording Lemonheads on my old blue tascam four-track in my Gran's living room?!? Probably the same night we trawled the wheelie bin for a rizla after drinking Moonshine... Must try look for it later. Drifter is one I worked on with Marty, he's soooooooooo good at his music - check out www.littlepaperflags.com xx
